Force a close transition
A scoped AUG must unzoom or accept the slower cycle during a fast swing.
A scoped CT rifle whose firing cadence slows while zoomed.
The AUG deals 32 base damage, retains 96% every 500 units, and penetrates two surfaces. Its scope improves sightline placement but slows the firing cycle from 0.0825 to 0.135 seconds, so it is for deliberate shots rather than maximum close output.

Counter-Strike 1.6 values
Base damage is before hitgroup, distance, armor, and material modifiers. Armored damage is the percentage retained while armor covers the hitgroup.
Percentage-based range retention applies once per 500 game units. Penetration count is the maximum penetration stages passed to the CS 1.6 bullet simulation; material and thickness still determine whether a shot exits a surface.
Live telemetry
Stay unscoped for a fast spray; scope when magnification is worth dropping from 727 to about 444 RPM.
Stable bursts exploit its 70% armor ratio and 96% range retention.

Two penetration stages punish predictable re-peeks.
